1852 - There is hereby established agricultural education in Portugal (Decree of December 6, reign of Queen Mary II).
1855 - are created the Institute for Agricultural and Regional Schools of Agriculture Bemposta (Lisbon), Évora and Viseu. The Regional School of Agriculture was transferred from Viseu to Coimbra.
1862 - Gone are the School of Bemposta and created in its place the School of Sintra.
1864 - Published the first reform of agricultural education and created the Regional School of Agriculture of Sintra.
1865 - are created courses of Regents Agricultural and Forestry.
1869 - It's defunct Regional Agricultural School of Coimbra.
1886 - The Regional School of Sintra now been renamed by the Central School of Agriculture (reform Emidio Navarro).
1887 - The Central School of Agriculture is transferred to Coimbra and designated by the Central School of Practical Agriculture. It is installed on Thursday belonging to the miter of the Bishop of Coimbra, in Quinta do Paul and other smaller expropriated for this purpose.
1892 - Change the name to Central School of Agriculture Morais Smith (retirement of John Franco minister of public works).
1899 - Change the name to the National School of Agriculture (reform Elvino Brito).
1911 - It approved the organization of the school, keeping the name of the National School of Agriculture of Coimbra.
1912 - The Rules of the National School of Agriculture (Decree of 27 October).

1976 - The Regents of agricultural schools and their sections are dependent on the Directorate General of Higher Education (Decree-Law 316/76, 29 April). The same law equated bachelors graduates with the course of Regents Agricultural.
1977 - The equation above was extended to all courses provided in Decree 5627 of May 10, 1919, and 1908 of June 19, 1931 (Decree-Law 24/77 January). It established higher education of short duration (Decree-Law 513-B/77 of 14 October, ratified with amendments by Law no. No. 61/78, 28 July)
1979 - It created the network of Polytechnic (Decree-Law 513-T/79 of December 26, ratified by Law 29/80, July 28, and amended by Decree-Law 303/80 of 16 Aug. 395/82, 21 September). That statute creates agrarian schools in different regions, among which includes the Agrarian School of Coimbra. It defined the regime of installation for the polytechnic schools (Decree-Law n. º 513-L1 / 79 of December 27, with the amendments of Decree - Law no. 131/80, May 17 .)
1980 - is set to be conferred the degree of association at the end professed in polytechnic. Takes possession of the first committee for ESAC.
1982 - are introduced bachelor courses in Crop and Animal Production of ESAC (Decree n. 2/82). Students organize a committee of ESAC pro-Students Association of the ESAC.
1983 - The Scientific Council of the ESAC meets for the first time, the premises of the Institute of Agronomy.
1985 - The ESAC is integrated in the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Government Decree 46/85, 22 November).
1986 - It adopted the Law on Education (Official Gazette, Series I 14 October). It established the Association of Students of Agrarian School of Coimbra on June 26.
1987 - extended the installation period until December 31, 1987 (Decree-Law 72/87, 12 February). In the same year is created in the course of ESAC Bachelor of Technology in Agro-Food Industries (Decree 597/87 of 9 July).
1988 - Appointed the second president of the AET. It created the horizontal structure of the ESAC, according to Units. From February this year the Scientific Council of ESAC is to meet on school premises.
1988 - Establishes in the ESAC a pro-Pedagogical Committee.
1990 - Approving the statutes and the autonomy of the Polytechnic (Law 54/90, 5 September). It created the course of Bachelor of Engineering in Forestry Operations (Decree 779/90 of August 31).
1991 - Establishment of the course of Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture and Livestock. In the same year come into phasing courses Diploma in Agricultural Production and Animal Production (Order no. 889/91, August 29). On 21 November it organized the 1st National Forest Fair, and is celebrated World Forestry Day.
1994 - Cease the system installation in place and creates a system installation for the schools, giving them legal personality and pedagogical, scientific and administrative (Decree-Law no. No. 24/94, January 27). He was elected the first Board of Teaching. It created the vertical structure of ESAC, with the establishment of coordinating units of the courses.
1995 - Appointed the first director of ESAC under the new regime for the installation of the top schools (Decree-Law no. No. 24/94, January 27, 1994). Take the first possession Pedagogical Council. It approved the Degree of Specialized Studies in Management and Agricultural Extension ESAC (Order no. 267/95, April 3). They are approved the Statute of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Normative Order 85/95 18 October).
1996 - Bachelor of Technology in Agro-Food has been renamed to a Bachelor of Engineering in Agro-Food formalizing itself, simultaneously, changing the curriculum (Order no. º 290/96 of 24 July). It organized the first Open Day of the School of Agriculture. It is named the second director of the ESAC (Order no. 35/SEES/XIII/96 °).
1997 - San approved the statutes of the ESAC (Order published in the Gazette of the Republic Series II No. 96, April 24, 1997). Are elected and take office the first members of the Assembly of Representatives and the first Board. It changed the syllabus of the course of Bachelor of Engineering in Forestry Operations (Order no. 507/97, July 21. Establishment of the Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Decree 490/97 of July 15.) Is amended Law of the Education (Law no. 115/97, September 19).
