1993
CESINE is born as a Business School with the name “Escuela Superior de Informática y Negocios” and the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
1994
The first headquarters of CESINE are inaugurated on September 29 in Pérez Galdós Avenue, which also recovered an emblematic building for our city.

The Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering begins.

In December, the first issue of Cesine News is published, including the most important news about the centre.
1995
CESINE becomes a member of the prestigious University of Wales, as a validated institution.

The Department of Internships and Career Opportunities begins its work, with the objective of looking for synergies between the university and the business world through agreements with business organizations and leading companies in our region (CEOE-CEPYME, Banco Santander, Alcatel, Solvay, La Caixa, Ascensores IMEN, Derivados del Flúor, El Diario Montañés, Sidenor).
1996
CESINE purchases a 800 m2 new building in Menéndez Pelayo Avenue. A complete restoration is carried out and it is inaugurated in October, also keeping the Pérez Galdos headquarters. This new building has advanced facilities and allows for a greater number of students applying for entrance in our Business School.
1997
CESINE establishes a joint venture with ESIC, Escuela Superior de Gestión Comercial y Marketing to teach their Master in Marketing Management and Commercial Affairs in Santander.

The first class from the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration graduates.

The first International Trade Conference is carried out, with the participation of a series of experts from different parts of Spain and France and with the presentation of the results of an ambitious work about Cantabrian Exporting Companies, directed by Professor Javier Beltrán de Heredia and carried out by students from the 4th year in Business Administration.
1998
In February, CESINE obtains authorization of establishment from the Ministry of Education of the Government of Cantabria, based on R.D. 557/1991, which controls the creation of Universities and University centres.

The students from the 4th year of Computer Engineering carry out Final Year Projects in important companies, which involve new computer developments applicable in real situations in such organizations.

CESINE carries out an ambitious study for the Federation of Small Businesses to detect the expectations, necessities and trends in small businesses and self-employed workers in Santander and its surroundings.
1999
The Regional Government of Cantabria, through its Ministry of Education and Youth approves, through a resolution from February 12 1999, the definitive operating license for CESINE to teach the degrees in Business Administration and Computer Engineering.

CESINE is one of the finalists of the international prize “Entrepreneur of the year”, organized by La Caixa, Ernst &Young and IESE and with 171 important national and international companies participating. This prestigious prize obtained by CESINE recognizes companies that have been successful.

The first Cesine New Business Forum begins, an initiative to overcome the financing difficulties found by young entrepreneurs. A panel of experts evaluates entrepreneurship projects carried out by students from the last year in Business Administration.
2000
The Internships Department reaches 200 agreements with important companies and institutions, guaranteeing 100% of the students a broad work experience.

The department of Job Opportunities doubles the job offers negotiated by CESINE.
2001
Agreement between CESINE and the American University of Washington, a prestigious American university that offers CESINE’s students internships in companies and multinational organizations like the UN, the Department of the Treasury, the Chamber of Commerce, Deloitte and Touche, Oracle Corporation,…

CESINE, with its innovative spirit, implements a new e-learning teaching system through its website, pioneering its use in Spain, supporting in-class teaching, improving the teacher-student relationship and adding a whole series of utilities for students, like virtual tutoring, news services, theme-based forums, digital newspaper library, digital bulleting, downloadable notes and materials, etc.
2002
Inauguration of CESINE’s new headquarters. An intelligent building with an innovative and avant-garde design and a 5,000 square metre campus with some of the most technologically advanced facilities in Europe.

The Master in Business Administration –MBA- begins, developed jointly with La Caixa and offering the participants work experience.
2003
CESINE starts the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia and Industrial Design, authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Cantabria through a resolution of October 14 2003.

More than 350 companies participate in CESINE’s internships programs. The Internships Department negotiated 608 internships for 100% of the students during this year.
2004
Cesine starts the Executive version of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, designed for professionals that need to improve their curriculum with a university degree that improves their professional development.
2005
The Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing begins, authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Cantabria through a resolution from July 1 2005.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia and Industrial Design stands out as one of the most demanded professions in Europe, as there is a great need of these kinds of specialists in companies.

The national magazine Dirigentes awarded Cesine the prize “Liderazgo”, which was delivered in a ceremony by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Angel Revilla, and accepted by the President of the centre, Fermín Gutiérrez.
2006
CESINE’s graduates who had began the validation procedure received notification from the Ministry of Education and Science confirming the approval of their degrees, so full recognition of the degrees was achieved according to the current legislation.

CESINE’s graduates are in a full employment situation, according to a study carried out by the Department of Job Opportunities in February 2006.

The Department of Internships reached the record of 800 internships this year, which guaranteed up to 2,500 hours of paid internships at companies, as 80% of CESINE’s students ends up being hired by the companies where they carry out their internships.

CESINE opens up to the world with the presence of students from every region and country. In the last years the Business School has gone through and important process of opening and internationalization with its presence in university meeting is several Autonomous Communities and in countries like Colombia, México and Norway. That is why 20% of the students of the centre come from outside Cantabria.
2007
CESINE starts teaching the Master in Management and Administration of Golf Businesses. This Master is taught in collaboration with Integral golf Design, company owned by José María Olazabal, the Ramón Sota Foundation and the Cantabrian Federation of Golf.

The job opportunities for those who study it include golf club or course manager, federation technician, working for companies that own golf resorts, consulting, promotion or marketing management, communications or public relations, among others.
2008
Agreement between CESINE, Dublin Business School and Athlone Institute of Technology.
2010-2011
The agreements between CESINE and renowned international universities increase, like: Dun Laoghaire Institute of Technology, IDRAC Ecole de Commerce et de Management, International Business School of Law and Business Lithuania, Algoma University, Vancouver Island University, Saint Lawrence College, and Zealand Institute of Business and Technology.
2012
CESINE is awarded by the QS Star accreditation.
