Azerbaijan State Economic University (ASEU) Profile

Initially  in 1920, November 16 one of the 5 faculties of the Polytechnic Institute established  by the Azerbaijan Revolution Committee was the faculty of economy. In 1922 in the Azerbaijan State University of Social Sciences economic department was set up and this department had prepared economists till 1930.

According to  the decision of Azerbaijan SSR Council of Committee of People’s Commissars, June 19, that time’s Azerbaijan State University was separated into the separate institutes and on the basis of economic section in it Azerbaijan Trade – Cooperation Institute was set up. This is how ASEU was founded.

In 2002, June 13, by the Azerbaijan Republic President’s  decree №349 on the basis of Azerbaijan State Economical Institute and Baku Science of Commodities Institute new higher school- ASEU was founded. Thus, established in 1930,  University changed from a small faculty to one of the leading institutions of Azerbaijan and  Caucasus’ biggest higher economic institutions is considered the main center for preparation of highly qualified specialists on such important fields as agriculture, trade, finance, statistics, tax system, marketing, management in our country. Our aim is focused to convert our university to the modern electronic university integrated with the world education in future.
